बीएयू में 25वीं प्रसार शिक्षा परिषद की बैठक सम्पन्न 

आज बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय में 25वीं प्रसार शिक्षा परिषद की बैठक माननीय कुलपति डॉ डी० आर० सिंह की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित की गई जिसमें प्रगतिशील किसानों के अलावा देशभर के विभिन्न संस्थाओं से आए अतिथियों ने हिस्सा लिया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ द्वीप प्रज्ज्वलन और अतिथियों के स्वागत के साथ किया  गया। 
बैठक में स्वागत भाषण देते हुए प्रसार शिक्षा निदेशक डॉ आर० के० सोहाने ने सभा को विश्वविद्यालय के प्रसार गतिविधियों से अवगत कराया। साथ ही सफरनामा फ़िल्म के माध्यम से विश्वविद्यालय की गतिविधियों का प्रदर्शन किया गया।  
मुख्य अतिथि के तौर पर एआरआई, पूसा नई दिल्ली के प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक डॉ डी के सिंह ने शिरकत किया, साथ ही चंद्रशेखर आज़ाद कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, कानपुर के पूर्व निदेश प्रसार शिक्षा डॉ धूम सिंह ने भी बैठक में भाग लिया। आईसीएआर, अटारी पटना के निदेशक डॉ अंजनी कुमार सिंह ने विश्वविद्यालय और कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रों के माध्यम से हुए प्रसार कार्यों की समीक्षा की। 
इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए माननीय कुलपति ने  कहा कि "हमारे वैज्ञानिक बदलते मौसम, बाजार और किसानों के हालात को देखते प्रस्ताव लेकर आएं।" उन्होंने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के साथ-साथ सभी महाविद्यालयों और क्षेत्रीय अनुसंधान केंद्रों पर एटिक सेंटर खुलेगा जिसमें विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा तैयार बीज, प्रकाशन एवं अन्य उत्पाद भी उपलब्ध होंगे।   
बैठक में प्रसार शिक्षा निदेशक डॉ आर० के० सोहाने ने प्रगति प्रतिवेदन प्रस्तुत करते हुए कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय के प्रसार कार्यक्रम पूरे बिहार के किसानों के हित मे ध्यान रखकर चलाये जा रहे हैं। 
विश्वविद्यालय से उतीर्ण एक पूर्व छात्रा मीनाक्षी ने अपने द्वारा शुरू किए गए मखाना स्टार्टअप से सभा को अवगत कराया एवं अन्य कृषि छात्र-छात्राओं से नौकरी मानसिकता से निकलकर अपार संभनाओं से भरा कृषि स्टार्टअप की ओर ध्यान देने को कहा। 
प्रगतिशील किसानों में श्रीमति विनीता देवी, श्री सुधांशु कुमार और श्री आनंद ठाकुर ने बैठक में हिस्सा लिया। 
 पुस्तकों का हुआ विमोचन : प्रसार शिक्षा परिषद की बैठक के दौरान मोटे अनाज पर कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र शेखपुरा और बाढ़ द्वारा प्रकाशित पुस्तक का विमोचन किया गया। इसके अतिरिक्त केवीके शेखपुरा द्वारा प्रकाशित बकरी के शिशु की देखभाल और केवीके मुंगेर से प्रकाशित श्री अन्न पुस्तक का भी विमोचन हुआ

 डिजिटल मृदा उर्वरता मैप का हुआ विमोचन : इसी अवसर पर माननीय कुलपति द्वारा एक पोर्टल लांच किया गया जिसमें विभिन्न जिलों के सॉइल फर्टीलिटी को दर्शाने वाले मैप उपलब्ध हैं, इससे किसान अपने जिले की मिट्टी के प्रकार को समझ सकते हैं और उसके अनुरूप अनुसंशित कृषि कार्य कर सकते हैं। 

 बैठक में सभी कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रों ने प्रस्तुत किया प्रगति पतिवेदन : बैठक में बीएयू के अधीन सभी 25 कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रों ने अपना प्रस्तुतिकरण दिया एवं विशेषज्ञों ने केवीके के कार्यों की समीक्षा की एवं बेहतर क्रियान्वयन हेतु कई सुझाव दिए। 
इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के सभी निदेशक, अधिष्ठाता और प्राचार्यगण उपस्थित रहे। सभा का संचालन आरजे अन्नू ने किया किया एवं धन्यवाद ज्ञापन सह निदेशक प्रसार शिक्षा डॉ आर एन सिंह ने किया। इस आशय की सूचना विश्वविद्यालय के पीआरओ डॉ राजेश कुमार ने दिया।
बैठक के मुख्य बिंदु 

1. छोटे किसानों के हितों को ध्यान में रखते हुए मॉडल बनाएं वैज्ञानिक

2. जी०आई० टैगिंग के लिए उत्पादों या फसलों को चिन्हित करें वैज्ञानिक

3. विश्वविद्यालय के यूट्यूब चैनल के मध्यम से राज्य भर के किसानों के लिए 16 अक्टूबर से "सवाल-जवाब" कार्यक्रम का होगा सीधा प्रसारण 
 
4. किसानों द्वारा ग्रास रूट टेक्नोलॉजी (जुगाड़ टेक्नोलॉजी) कर उन्हें परिष्कृत करेंगे वैज्ञानिक

5. सीड पोर्टल होगा लॉन्च, इसके माध्यम से किसान अपनी मांग दर्ज कर सकेंगे। 

6. किसानों को उनके अधिकारों के प्रति जागरूक करेंगे वैज्ञानिक

7. पटना सहित सभी महाविद्यालयों में खुलेगा एटिक, यहां सिंगल विंडो के तर्ज पर मिलेगा विश्वविद्यालय का बीज, उत्पाद और प्रकाशन।

बी॰ ए॰ यू॰ मे 26वीं शोध अनुसंधान परिषद का शुभारंभ बिहार कृषि विश्वविध्यालय की 26वीं शोध परिषद (RCM) (रबी-2023) की बैठक का उद्घाटन सत्र दिनांक 20.09.2023 को विश्वविध्यालय के माननीय कुलपति डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह की अध्यक्षता में आमंत्रित विशेषज्ञों की गरिमापूर्ण उपस्थिति में आयोजित किया गया। इस दो दिवसीय बैठक में एफ़एओ और यूएनओ जैसी अंतराष्ट्रीय संस्थाओं मे देश का मान बढ़ा चुके जाने माने वैज्ञानिक डॉ राम चेत चौधरी, और डॉ. मान सिंह, पूर्व परियोजना निदेशक, जल प्रौद्योगिकी केंद्र, आईएआरआई, नई दिल्ली विशेषज्ञ के तौर पर शिरकत कर रहे हैं। विभिन्न जिलों से आए प्रगतिशील किसान श्रीमती प्रीति कुमारी (कटिहार), श्री ओंकार प्रसाद महतो (लखीसराय) और श्री अविनाश कुमार (औरंगाबाद) भी उद्घाटन सत्र का हिस्सा रहे। डॉ. अनिल कुमार सिंह, निदेशक अनुसंधान, बीएयू, सबौर ने अतिथियों का स्वागत किया और विश्वविद्यालय में चल रही अनुसंधान गतिविधियों को प्रस्तुत किया। उन्होने बताया कि बीएयू द्वारा अभी तक विभिन्न फसलों के 35 उन्नतशील प्रभेदों का विकास किया जा चुका है वहीं  विश्वविध्यालय द्वारा कृषि के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में 67 तकनीकों को भी विकसित एवं विमोकित कर किसानों को समर्पित किया गया है। विशेषज्ञ वैज्ञानिक डॉ॰ मान सिंह ने बीएयू के राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर लगातार बढ़ रहे कद के लिए कुलपति डॉ॰ डी॰ आर॰ सिंह की दूरदर्शिता एवं किसानों के लिए उनकी सोच की सराहना की जिससे बिहार मे प्रयोगशाला से खेत तक (लैब टु लैंड) का सपना साकार होता नज़र आ रहा है। विशेषज्ञ वैज्ञानिक डॉ॰ आरसी चौधरी ने सभा को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि उनका बीएयू से जुड़ाव बहुत पुराना है जब उन्होने एआरआई पटना को बतौर क्षेत्रीय प्रबन्धक सन 1979 में जॉइन किया था। उन्होने विश्वविध्यालय के मीडिया सेंटर द्वारा किए जा रहे उत्कृष्ट कार्यों की सराहना की। बैठक मे आईआरसी इस्लामपुर के वैज्ञानिक डॉ॰ शिवनाथ दास द्वारा औषधीय पौधों से संबन्धित तीन प्रकाशनों का भी विमोचन किया गया। बीएयू के कुलपति डॉ॰ डी॰ आर॰ सिंह ने अध्यक्षीय सम्बोधन मे वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा किए गए कार्यों की सराहना करते हुए हुए कहा कि देश मे पहली बार किसी विश्वविध्यालय से जुड़े किसानों को इतनी बड़ी संख्या मे एक साथ राष्ट्रीय पादप जीनोम सेवियर पुरुषकार मिले है। उनहोंए बताया कि बीएयू को तीन पटेंट्स मिल चुके है और हाल ही मे विकसित 4 फसल प्रभेदों और अन्य कृषि तकनीकों को भी विकसित किया गया है जो राज्य के किसानों को समर्पित किए जा चुके हैं। इसके अलावा कतरनी धान और जरदालू आम के पैकेजिंग को भी मूर्त रूप दिया गया है जो इन बहुमूल्य कृषि उत्पादों की बढ़ोत्तरी मे सहायक सिद्ध होंगे। उन्होने वैज्ञानिकों को प्राकृतिक संसाधनों पर बढ़ते दबाव और उनकी गुणवत्ता में गिरावट, कुपोषण, व्यावसायीकरण और विविधीकरण, अधिक पोषक मूल्य वाले भोजन में परिवर्तन जैसे सात प्रमुख क्षेत्रों पर काम करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया । तत्पश्चात अलग अलग कृषि जलवायु क्षेत्रों के अनुसार क्षेत्रीय अनुसंधान एवं सलाहकार समिति की बैठक की कार्रवाही का प्रस्तुतीकरण डॉ॰ एसएन राय, प्राचार्य, बिहार कृषि महाविध्यालय (ज़ोन-3ए) डॉ॰ रणधीर कुमार, क्षेत्रीय प्रबन्धक, एआरआई पटना (ज़ोन-3बी), और डॉ॰ अरुणिमा कुमारी, प्राचार्या, एमबीएसी, अगवानपुर सहरसा (ज़ोन-2) द्वारा किया गया। इनमे ज़ोन 3बी के लिए  दो दिवसीय शोध परिषद मे बीएयू मे चल रहे विभिन्न शोध परियोजनाओं के प्रगति प्रतिवेदन पर चर्चा होने के साथ ही धान और गेहूं के एक-एक प्रभेद और तीन उन्नत कृषि तकनीकों के संस्तुतिकरण किए जाने की संभावना है। सभा के उदघाटन सत्र का ध्यानवाद ज्ञापन उपनिदेशक शोध डॉ॰ शेलबाला ड़े द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया।

Team of Scientist led by Dr Nintu Mandal, Assistant Professor at Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, BAU, Sabour have developed unique product (NSP) for which the university got patent ( Patent no :  451589;  Date of grant :14.09.2023 ) from the Patent office, govt of India.  The title of patent is “A Superabsorbent Polymer (NSP) and process for preparing the same” with application number 202031020785 filed on 18.05.2020. This patent has been granted the term of 20 years from the 18th day of May 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) D. R. Singh while congratulating scientists for this remarkable accomplishment directed that the work should be immediately started for commercialization of the product so that farming community can be benefited at large.

दिनांक 14 09 2023 को बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर भागलपुर में जलवायु अनुकूल कृषि कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत कृषि एक दिवसीय  निर्णय समर्थन प्रणाली  (ADSS) पर कार्य दक्षता कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया।  इस कार्यशाला का उद्घाटन बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर के कुलपति डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह ने किया। साल का मुख्य उद्देश्य बिहार में कृषि को जलवायु के अनुकूल बनाने तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन के कारण आने वाली कमजोरियों से लड़ने हेतु विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा विकसित कृषि निर्णय समर्थन प्रणाली (ADSS) जिसमें मौसम आधारित कृषि सलाहकार बुलेटिन को ज्यादा से ज्यादा किसानों के बीच पहुंचाया जाता है जिसके द्वारा किसान जलवायु से होने वाले फसल क्षति को बचा सकते हैं तथा यदि मौसम की जानकारी किसानों को पहले ही हो जाती है तो फसलों में दिए जाने वाले अवयव जैसे कि सिंचाई, तथा कीटनाशी एवं खरपतवारनाशी तथा कृषि रसायन आदि को फसल में डालने से रोका जा सकता है। इस मौके पर कृषि मौसम विभाग के प्रमुख हुआ कृषि मौसम संगठन के अध्यक्ष डॉ के के सिंह, डॉ सेल सिंह पूर्व निदेशक भारत मौसम विभाग, डॉ आर के सिंह, जीबी पंत कृषि विश्वविद्यालय पंतनगर, तथा डॉ आर के सुहाने निदेशक प्रसाद शिक्षा बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, ग्रामीण कृषि मौसम सेवा कार्यक्रम में कार्यरत कृषि वैज्ञानिक डॉ अनूप चौबे, श्री दयानिधि चौबे, डॉ नेहा पारीक व श्री रोशन कुमार सहित देश भर के कई नामी गिरामी कृषि मौसम वैज्ञानिक मौजूद रहे। 
कार्यक्रम संचालन श्री संतोष कुमार नोडल ऑफिसर जीकेएमएस एवं डॉक्टर श्रीनिवास राघवन सहायक प्राध्यापक बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा किया गया। इस मौके पर बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति डॉक्टर डॉ सिंह ने बताया कि कृषि निर्णय समर्थन प्रणाली बिहार में किसानों के लिए एक वरदान साबित होगा जिसके माध्यम से किसान वर्षा आदि की जानकारी पूर्व में ही प्राप्त कर लेंगे जिससे वह अपनी छति को रोक सकेंगे।

Training on preparation of greeting card

Waste to wealth is the mantra in today’s world. Flowers and foliage eventually dry and become waste. These flowers can be collected and dried to make many decorative items including greeting cards, bookmarks, sceneries, etc. A training on greeting card preparation using dry flowers was imparted to the students of KGBV, Sabour on 2^nd September, 2023. They were taught the process of flower collection, drying, pasting as well as making sketches earlier when they were taught bookmark preparation in July, 2023. They were again reminded the same and taught the intricacies of greeting card making. The students enjoyed the training and showed positive response towards the programme. Later on, they were enthusiastically engaged in making greeting cards for the upcoming Teacher’s Day.

The students of KGBV, Sabour learnt how to make greeting cards with dry flowers, foliage and waste materials last week and on Teacher’s Day (i.e. 5^th Spetember, 2023), they gifted cards prepared by themselves to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour, Dr. D.R. Singh at the university as well as District Magistrate Mr. Subrat Kumar Sen at a programme organised at Town Hall, Bhagalpur to celebrate Teacher’s Day. It is a matter of immense pride for BAU, Sabour how these girls have mastered the art of card making so fast under the able guidance of the team of scientists from BAU, Sabour and their teachers.

केवीके सबौर में वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार समिति की हुई बैठक 

कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र के सभागार सह- प्रशिक्षण कक्ष में “वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार समिति” की 20वीं बैठक का आयोजन किया गया। डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह, माननीय कुलपति, बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, सबौर द्वारा दीप प्रज्जवलित कर बैठक का उद्घाटन किया गया। बैठक की अध्यक्षता कुलपति, बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, सबौर द्वारा किया गया। उन्होंने कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र के कार्यों की सराहना की एवं अन्य उपस्थित विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिकों, कृषि विभाग के पदाधिकारियों एवं मनोनीत किसान सदस्यों को कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र के कार्यों में सहयोग एवं सुझाव देने की बात कही, जिससे कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र और बेहतर कार्य कर सके साथ ही उन्होंने केन्द्र के प्रधान एवं वैज्ञानिकों को कृषि विभाग के पदाधिकारियों से समन्वय स्थापित कर कार्य करने की सलाह दी.

जिससे केन्द्र की गतिविधियों एवं परियोजना के माध्यम से किसानों को अधिकाअधिक लाभ पहुँचाया जा सके। साथ ही उन्होंने डी.डी.एम. नावार्ड, भागलपुर को नावार्ड द्वारा कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र, सबौर से प्रशिक्षित बेरोजगार युवाओं को स्वरोजगार हेतु ऋण मुहैया कराने में त्वरित कारवाई करने का सुझाव दिया। प्रगतिशील किसान अमित कौशिक द्वारा बीज एवं खाद की उपलब्धता देर से होने की बात कही गई जिसपर माननीय कुलपति ने जिला कृषि पदाधिकारी, भागलपुर को इस संबंध में संज्ञान लेने का अनुरोध किया।

CCINM Training organized at Mandan Bharti Agriculture College, Agwanpur, Saharsa

Fifteen Days (22 August to 05 September, 2023) certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management for Agricultural Input Dealers was organized on 22.08.2023 at Mandan Bharti Agriculture College, Agwanpur, Saharsa. Thirty farmers selected by District Agriculture Office of Saharsa, Supaul and Khagaria were participated in this training programme. In her inaugural speech Associate Dean-cum-Principal, MBAC, Agwanpur, Saharsa Prof. (Dr.) Arunima Kumari highlights the problem and prospect of Integrated Nutrient Management. All India Inter University Sports Meet-2023 was organised on 26.08.2023 at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour and under which Badminton Team Event and Table Tennis Team Events were organized. This sports meet was inaugurated by Dr. D. R. Singh, Vice Chancellor, BAU Sabour and Dr. (Mrs.) B. Neerja Prabhakar, Vice Chancellor, SKLTSHU, Telangana. The players from Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyala, West Bengal; Jawahar Lal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh; Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyala, Raipur, Chhattisgarh; Bihar Animal Science University, Patna; Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, Bihar and Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour participated in this Sports meet. The Badminton Team Event and Table Tennis events were organized by dividing the players arrived here from different states into four zones- East, West, North and South. Matches of Badminton Team Event were conducted in Doubles Boys and Doubles Girls categories. Total 24 numbers of players, namely- Sanjan Kumar Bharti, Vivek Kumar, Navneet Kumar, Manish Raj, Prachi, Kajal, Shashi Kumar Gupta, Abhishek, Deepak Kumar Choudhary, Shubham Kumar, Aparajita Shukla, Rashmi Agrawal, Kundan Kumar, Dinkar, Abhay, Vinay Sharma, Harsha Kumari, Monika Raj, Shubham Jha, Himanshu Gupta, Nikhil, Sameer, Nikita Gaud, Sonu Gupta participated in four team- East, West, North and South in this Badminton competition. Mr. Deepak Kumar Chaudhary, BAU Sabour got the award of Best Badminton Player (Boys) and Ms. Harsha Kumari, BAU Sabour got the award of Best Badminton Player (Girls) of this event. The Players were awarded with the Trophies, medals and certificates. Team West (Sanjan Kumar Bharti, Vivek Kumar, Navneet Kumar, Manish Raj, Prachi, Kajal ) was declared the Runner team and Team North (Shashi Kumar Gupta, Abhishek, Deepak Kumar Choudhary, Shubham Kumar, Aparajita Shukla, Rashmi Agrawal) won this Badminton Event. Matches of Table Tennis Event were conducted in Singles and Mixed Doubles categories. Total 16 numbers of players, namely- Anushka Kumari, Md. The Players were awarded with the Trophies and certificates. Team East (Anushka Kumari, Md. Ahmad Hussain, Abhijeet Kumar, Piyush Gupta) was declared the Runner team and Team North (Neha, Vivek Kumar, Avinash Kumar, Saif Ali Rahman) won this Table Tennis Event. 

The Players of Winner and Runner team were awarded with the Trophies, medals and certificates by the Dr. D. R. Singh, Vice C hancellor, BAU Sabour. Players of other participant team were also awarded with the Participation Certificates. Deans/ Directors, faculties, officials and students of BAU Sabour & other participating universities and other guests were present during these events in large number. Sports infrastructures and facilities for the students here have regularly been upgraded by the Vice Chancellor, BAU Sabour. Under his guidance and support different sports meet/ events have continuously been organized for the overall development of the students of the university.

The two-day All India Undergraduate Convention in Biotechnology, which commenced with an inspiring inauguration yesterday, has now successfully concluded with a valedictory session that brought together a distinguished assembly of dignitaries, participants, and organizers. Dr. Neeraja Prabhakaran, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of SKLTSHU, Siddipet, Telangana, graced the event as the Chief Guest of the session. Dr. D.R. Singh, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University, held the position of Chairman for the session. Sharing the stage were other dignitaries including Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Director of Research at Bihar Agricultural University, Dr. Md. Mizanul Haque, Registrar of Bihar Agricultural University, and Dr. N. Chattopadhyaya, Principal of CABT, Sabour.

The valedictory session commenced with the presentation of floral bouquets to the dignitaries, setting a tone of respect and appreciation. At the onset, Dr. Ravi Ranjan Kumar, the Joint Organizing Secretary of the convention, presented a comprehensive report detailing the two-day journey, showcasing the variety of events and activities that took place. Notably, the convention witnessed a significant turnout, with more than 200 participants from various colleges attended the event.

Dr. Neeraja Prabhakaran, the esteemed Chief Guest, imparted her blessings and words of wisdom to the attending students, motivating them to pursue excellence in their future endeavors. The experts present in the session also extended their blessings and encouraged the participants to aim for the highest goals in life. The session moved forward with a feedback session, where representatives from each college shared their impressions of the convention.

The program proceeded with Sri Amit Kumar, Deputy Director Administration at BAU, elaborating on the sports events held during the convention. The winners in badminton and table tennis, categorized by zones, were awarded for their outstanding performances.

Dr. Shambu Prasad, the Chairman of the cultural program, then provided an overview of the cultural events that unfolded during the convention. Participants excelled in diverse categories such as singing, dancing, and dramatic performances, earning them well-deserved awards.

Dr. Dharamsheela Thakur, the Organizing Secretary, highlighted the winners of the four technical sessions along with various other categories including poster presentations, model displays, debates, and quizzes. The event acknowledged their achievements and contributions to the convention's success.

In a gracious gesture, the Vice Chancellor presented mementos to the Principals of BAC, Sabour, and CABT, Sabour, acknowledging their instrumental roles in supporting and organizing the convention.

The session proceeded with insightful addresses from Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Director of Research at Bihar Agricultural University, and Dr. Md. Mizanul Haque, Registrar of Bihar Agricultural University, who offered encouraging words and meaningful insights. Dr. N. Chattopadhyaya, Principal of CABT, Sabour, expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the convention.

The College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, commenced a two-day All India Undergraduate Academic Convention in Biotechnology today, on August 25, 2023. The event, organized under the visionary leadership of University Vice Chancellor, Dr. D.R. Singh, aims to foster collaboration between undergraduate students and experts from various fields of biotechnology. Recognizing the students as the harbingers of India's future, the convention seeks to impart a clear understanding of the benefits and diverse opportunities presented by biotechnology in higher education, startups, and beyond.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions to the field of biotechnology. Dr. Neeraja Prabhakar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of SKLTSHU, Siddipet, Telangana, graced the event as the chief guest. Dr. A.K. Shasany, Director of CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow, and Dr. Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General (R) of ICRISAT, Hyderabad, were esteemed guests of honor.

The inaugural session was marked by the traditional welcome of the guests with floral bouquets, shawls, and mementos, followed by a ceremonial offering of water (jal arpan) by all the dignitaries. Dr. N. Chattopadhyaya, Convener of the convention, delivered the welcome address, expressing his enthusiasm for the platform's potential to nurture young talent. A series of ceremonial inaugurations followed, including the launch of the College of Agricultural Biotechnology's website, the unveiling of a replica model of CABT, Sabour, and the inauguration of an E-newsletter of CABT, Sabour.

A pivotal moment of the ceremony was the release of the Souvenir-cum-Abstract Book of AIUGACB-2023. 

Dr. D.R. Singh, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University, delivered a thought-provoking Presidential Address that resonated deeply with the audience. His words, full with wisdom and experience, served as a guiding light for the attending students, igniting their aspirations for a prosperous and impactful journey ahead. Following the enlightening address, the Director Research, BAU, Sabour, took the stage to convey heartfelt appreciation to all participants, and contributors. Following the inauguration, two technical sessions were conducted. The first session focused on plant biotechnology, chaired by the guest of honour, Dr. Arvind Kumar and co-chaired by Dr. K. Kathiravan from the University of Madras, Chennai. This session featured keynote lectures by Dr. A.K. Shasany, Dr. Arvind Kumar, and Dr. Siddharth Tiwari from NABI, Mohali, followed by interactive discussions and 14 oral presentations by participants on various plant biotechnology topics.

The second technical session explored animal biotechnology, stem cell research, drug delivery, and cancer research. Chaired by Dr. Vinod Kumar Nigam from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, and co-chaired by Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Prof. (Animal husbandry) at BAU, Sabour, this session included keynote lectures by Dr. Ashok Kumar from AIIMS, Bhopal, and Dr. Rizwan ul Haque from Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. The session concluded with interactions and five oral presentations by participants.

Both technical sessions played a crucial role in expanding the horizons of students' knowledge, providing them with valuable insights and in-depth understanding. Through engaging discussions and informative presentations, participants had the opportunity to delve into the intricate realms of their chosen subjects within biotechnology.

Furthermore, these sessions went beyond the individual impact by contributing to the broader agricultural community. By sharing the latest research, advancements, and perspectives, the conventions sparked collaborative thinking and innovation. The knowledge gained and connections formed during these sessions are expected to ripple through the community, influencing research directions, practical applications, and overall progress in the field of biotechnology and agriculture.

On 23.08.2023 Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture Govt. of Bihar, Sri Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, IAS, visited the Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnea along with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour Dr. D. R. Singh. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour welcomed the Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture Govt. of Bihar, Sri Sanjay Kumar Agrawal with bouquet. Among the other dignitaries present were Shri Anil Kumar Jha, IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture Govt. of Bihar, Sri Kundan Kumar, IAS, District Magistrate, Purnea, Smt. Sahila, IAS, DDC, Purnea, SDM, Sadar Purnea, Joint Director Agriculture Purnea, District Agriculture Purnea etc. Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture visited different unit of the ongoing activities of the college such as Smart Class Room, Library, Laboratory, Makhana-cum-Fish modal etc. During the visit Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture interacted with the student of 4^th and 6^th Semester in their respective class room. Later he addressed the Scientists/Teacher and staff of the college. A meeting was organized in which Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour Dr. D. R. Singh honored Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture Govt. of Bihar Sri Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, IAS with bouquet, shawl and memento. Associate Dean-cum-Principal, Dr. Paras Nath honored Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour Dr. D. R. Singh, Sri Anil Kumar Jha, IAS, Joint Secretary, Agriculture, DDC, Purnea and other dignitaries. In the welcome speech Principal of the college narrated different ongoing activities and brief achievements of the college. Dr. D. R. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor spoke about the best practices of the college such as NSS, NCC, Teaching, Research, Extension and Training. On the occasion he also said about significant contribution of this college in the field of Makhana, Research and Development. Sri Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, IAS, Hon’ble Secretary, Agriculture expressed his satisfaction over different ongoing activities of the college and further directed to focus on value addition and branding of Makhana products, design and development of Makhana harvesting and poping machine, research on dragon fruit etc.

Among other dignitaries present during the visit were Sri Anil Kumar Jha, I.A.S., Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Bihar, Sri Shrikant Sastree, District Magistrate. Kishanganj, Sri Nishat Ahmad, Director, Fisheries, Govt. of Bihar, Sri Srikrishnanand Chakravarty, District Agriculture Officer, Kishanganj. The team visited different sites of DKAC campus including the research farm, tissue culture laboratories and administrative building facilitated by Dr. Sathyanarayana K., Assco. Dean cum Principal, DKAC, Kishanganj. Hon`ble Secretary, Agriculture, Govt. of Bihar and VC, BAU, interacted with the farmers, scientists and highlighted the need for scaling up research and extension work on Tea, pineapple, dragon fruit and makhana. He also emphasized on exploring the avenues for increasing the area under the crops as well as key support on improving the marketing of the products.

बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर में दिनांक 17 अगस्त, 2023 को बीज उद्योग अकादमिक बैठक का संयोजन कुलपति की अध्यक्षता में की गयी । इस बैठक का मुख्य उद्देश्य विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिक एवं निजी उद्योग के क्षेत्र में किये जा रहे अनुसंधान पर विस्तृत चर्चा कर ज्ञान के आदान - प्रदान और सहयोगात्मक पहल के साथ साथ अन्य क्षेत्र में किये जा रहे अनुसंधान से अवगत कराना था। डॉ डी आर सिंह, कुलपति महोदय ने अपने अध्यक्षीय भाषण में उद्योग एवं विश्विद्यालय के बीच एक मजबूत कड़ी स्थापित कर कृषि को नये आयाम प्रदान करने की पहल की जाए। साथ ही साथ कुलपति महोदय ने कहा की शोध सलाहकार समिति में निजी क्षेत्र का प्रतिनिधि रखने हेतु पहल की जाए। कुलपति महोदय ने यह भी बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय से विकसित सभी प्रभेदों के विस्तार के लिए निजी क्षेत्र के द्वार खोले जाएंगे ताकि विश्वविद्यालय के बीज ज्यादा से ज्यादा किसानो के बीच जा सके। भारतीय बीज अनुसंधान संस्थान, मऊ के निदेशक ने बताया कि सार्वजनिक एवं निजी एजेंसियों के बीच विश्वास बनाए रखने की जरूरत है। उन्होंने वर्ष में दो बार फील्ड दिवस आयोजित करने का सुझाव दिया जिससे नई नई तकनीक का प्रचार और प्रसार दूर-दूर तक के किसानों को कम अवधि में पहुंच सके। निजी क्षेत्र से आए हुए प्रतिनिधि ने विश्वविद्यालय की इस पहल की प्रशंसा की एवं भविष्य में इसे बड़े स्तर पर करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। इस बैठक में विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा विकसित तकनीकों जैसे सबौर आर्सेनिक मिटिगेटर, ट्राइकोडर्मा आदि को किसानों तक पहुंचाने में अपनी संयोगिता की रूचि दिखाई। डॉ फ़िज़ाअहमद, संयोजक (SIAM, 2023) ने अपने स्वागत भाषण में विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा विकसित प्रभेदों, तकनीकों एवं उत्पादों की विस्तृत जानकारी दी। साथ ही उन्होंने बीज उत्पादन कार्यक्रम को विस्तार से बताय। डॉ फ़िज़ा ने यह भी बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय में निजी एजेंसियों के सहयोगिता को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए SOP बनाने की जरूरत है जिससे दोनों पक्ष लाभान्वित हो सकें। इस सम्मेलन का समापन कुमारी रजनी के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन से संपन्न हुआ।

The award ceremony of the Intra College, Indoor Games Sports, namely Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom and Chess of Bihar Agricultural College  was done today by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour Dr. D. R. Singh on the occasion of Independence Day-2023. Altogether 80 boys and 48 girls students participated in different Games. Twenty students received gold and sixteen students received each of Silver & Bronze medals. While addressing Hon'ble Vice Chancellor asked students to take part in Games & Sports very actively to build their all round development.

Under the aegis of Nature Club, BAU, Sabour, a logo preparation competition was held. Twenty two students participated in this competition. The logo of Ms Komal Kumari of BSc Ag. 6th Semester stood first. The awarded  logo of Nature Club was launched by Hon'ble Agriculture Minister, Govt  of Sri Kumar Sarvajeet jee, during his visit to university on 14th August, 2023. On the occasion of Independence day, the logo preparation awardees along with other participants were distributed with certificates by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour, Dr D. R. singh. Also, fourteen students of Nature Club, who actively took part in different activities of Nature Club were given the Appreciation award.

राज्य में कृषि वृद्धिकरण को मिलेगा बढ़ावाः कृषि मंत्री, बिहार 

मौसम परिवर्तन के परिपेक्ष्य में बिहार सरकार वर्तमान फसल पद्धति में आवश्यकता आधारित वृद्धिकरण पर जोर देगी। राज्य के प्रत्येक जिले से वर्तमान मौसम के अनुकूल कृषि पद्धति अपनाने संबंधी आंकड़ों का संग्रहण किया जायगा और प्रत्येक जिले के लिए स्वतंत्र कार्ययोजना बनाकर इसका क्रियान्वयन कराया जायगा। उक्त बातें श्री कुमार सर्वजीत, माननीय कृषि मंत्री बिहार के द्वारा कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर में नवनिर्मित प्रसार शिक्षा निदेशालय तथा बीज एवं प्रक्षेत्र निदेशालय के नवनिर्मित भवन के उद्घाटन अवसर पर कही गयी। माननीय कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि धान, गेहूँ फसल पद्धति के आच्छादन को कम करने की आवश्यकता है क्योंकि मौसम परिवर्तन के कारण सही समय पर एवं पर्याप्त मात्रा में वर्षा नहीं होने के फलस्वरुप किसानों को बहुत हानि होती है। कृषि मंत्री ने बताया कि राज्य में मोटे अनाज की खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एवं उस पर अनुसंधान के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा गया जिले में 150 करोड़ की लागत से सेन्टर ऑफ एक्सिलेंस स्थापित किया गया है जिसका लाभ हमारे किसान भाईयों को होगा। कृषि विभाग के द्वारा भूमि संरक्षण पर आवश्यकता अनुसार आधारित अनुसंधान के लिए भी "सेन्टर ऑफ एक्सिलेंस स्थापित किया जाएगा। माननीय कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि प्रकृति में हो रहे बदलाव के लिए सभी प्रकार का सहयोग विश्वविद्यालय को राज्य सरकार प्रदान करेगी। कृषि मंत्री ने सुझाव दिया कि विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिक कृषि एवं सम्बद्ध क्षेत्रों की तात्कालिक समस्याओं के समाधान हेतु छोटे-छोटे विडियो मैसेज बनाकर सोशल मीडिया के सभी प्लेटफॉर्म पर प्रसारित करें जिससे राज्य के किसानों को अधिक लाभ हो। इस अवसर पर डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह, कुलपति, बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, सबौर के द्वारा कृषि मंत्री का स्वागत एवं आभार व्यक्त किया गया। कुलपति महोदय ने विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षा, शोध प्रसार सहित अन्य गतिविधियों एवं उपलब्धियों को विस्तार से चर्चा की हाल ही में बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के 81 छात्रों ने राष्ट्रीय पात्रता परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की है जो कि एक रिकार्ड है। विश्वविद्यालय के एक छात्र ने पी.एच.डी. की एक प्रतियोगी परीक्षा में राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है और एक छात्रा की थीसिस को राष्ट्रीय सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ है। कुलपति महोदय ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के सहयोग से भारत सरकार के कृषि मंत्रालय के अधीन पौधा किस्म एवं कृषक अधिकार संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (PPV&FRA) नई दिल्ली द्वारा अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर दिये जाने वाले पुरस्कारों के लिए बिहार के दो कृषक समुदायों और चार कृषकों का चयन हुआ है। सर्वश्रेष्ठ पादप जीनोम संरक्षक कृषक समुदाय पुरस्कार के लिए कतरनी धान उत्पादक संघ और लीची उत्पादक संघ को चयनित किया गया है तथा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पादप जीनोम संरक्षक कृषक के लिए जमुई के श्री अर्जुन मंडल को औषधीय पौधों, रोहतास के श्री दिलीप कुमार सिंह को

टमाटर, रोहतास के ही श्री अर्जुन सिंह को लौकी एवं धान तथा मुंगेर के श्री सत्यदेव सिंह को मसूर, तीसी और चना के लिए पुरस्कार हेतु चयनित किया गया है साथ ही सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन को राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है।

राज्य में कृषि वृद्धिकरण को मिलेगा बढ़ावाः कृषि मंत्री, बिहार* 

मौसम परिवर्तन के परिपेक्ष्य में बिहार सरकार वर्तमान फसल पद्धति में आवश्यकता आधारित वृद्धिकरण पर जोर देगी। राज्य के प्रत्येक जिले से वर्तमान मौसम के अनुकूल कृषि पद्धति अपनाने संबंधी आंकड़ों का संग्रहण किया जायगा और प्रत्येक जिले के लिए स्वतंत्र कार्ययोजना बनाकर इसका क्रियान्वयन कराया जायगा। उक्त बातें श्री कुमार सर्वजीत, माननीय कृषि मंत्री बिहार के द्वारा कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर में नवनिर्मित प्रसार शिक्षा निदेशालय तथा बीज एवं प्रक्षेत्र निदेशालय के नवनिर्मित भवन के उद्घाटन अवसर पर कही गयी। माननीय कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि धान, गेहूँ फसल पद्धति के आच्छादन को कम करने की आवश्यकता है क्योंकि मौसम परिवर्तन के कारण सही समय पर एवं पर्याप्त मात्रा में वर्षा नहीं होने के फलस्वरुप किसानों को बहुत हानि होती है। कृषि मंत्री ने बताया कि राज्य में मोटे अनाज की खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एवं उस पर अनुसंधान के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा गया जिले में 150 करोड़ की लागत से सेन्टर ऑफ एक्सिलेंस स्थापित किया गया है जिसका लाभ हमारे किसान भाईयों को होगा। कृषि विभाग के द्वारा भूमि संरक्षण पर आवश्यकता अनुसार आधारित अनुसंधान के लिए भी "सेन्टर ऑफ एक्सिलेंस स्थापित किया जाएगा। माननीय कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि प्रकृति में हो रहे बदलाव के लिए सभी प्रकार का सहयोग विश्वविद्यालय को राज्य सरकार प्रदान करेगी। कृषि मंत्री ने सुझाव दिया कि विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिक कृषि एवं सम्बद्ध क्षेत्रों की तात्कालिक समस्याओं के समाधान हेतु छोटे-छोटे विडियो मैसेज बनाकर सोशल मीडिया के सभी प्लेटफॉर्म पर प्रसारित करें जिससे राज्य के किसानों को अधिक लाभ हो। इस अवसर पर डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह, कुलपति, बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय, सबौर के द्वारा कृषि मंत्री का स्वागत एवं आभार व्यक्त किया गया। कुलपति महोदय ने विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षा, शोध प्रसार सहित अन्य गतिविधियों एवं उपलब्धियों को विस्तार से चर्चा की हाल ही में बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के 81 छात्रों ने राष्ट्रीय पात्रता परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की है जो कि एक रिकार्ड है। विश्वविद्यालय के एक छात्र ने पी.एच.डी. की एक प्रतियोगी परीक्षा में राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है और एक छात्रा की थीसिस को राष्ट्रीय सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ है। कुलपति महोदय ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के सहयोग से भारत सरकार के कृषि मंत्रालय के अधीन पौधा किस्म एवं कृषक अधिकार संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (PPV&FRA) नई दिल्ली द्वारा अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर दिये जाने वाले पुरस्कारों के लिए बिहार के दो कृषक समुदायों और चार कृषकों का चयन हुआ है। सर्वश्रेष्ठ पादप जीनोम संरक्षक कृषक समुदाय पुरस्कार के लिए कतरनी धान उत्पादक संघ और लीची उत्पादक संघ को चयनित किया गया है तथा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पादप जीनोम संरक्षक कृषक के लिए जमुई के श्री अर्जुन मंडल को औषधीय पौधों, रोहतास के श्री दिलीप कुमार सिंह को

टमाटर, रोहतास के ही श्री अर्जुन सिंह को लौकी एवं धान तथा मुंगेर के श्री सत्यदेव सिंह को मसूर, तीसी और चना के लिए पुरस्कार हेतु चयनित किया गया है साथ ही सामुदायिक रेडियो स्टेशन को राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है।

भोला पासवान शास्त्री कृषि महाविद्याल, पूर्णिया में दिनांक १२ अगस्त को एक साथ कई  कार्यक्रमों का हुआ आयोजन 

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस,  हर घर तिरंगा और अपनी माटी अपना देश जागरूकता सह कृषि गोष्ठी के साथ कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन दिनांक 12 अगस्त को भोला पासवान शास्त्री कृषि महाविद्याल, पूर्णिया में आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ माननीय कुलपति डॉ डी आर सिंह द्वारा किया गया । यह कार्यक्रम जी 20 की बैठक को ध्यान में रखते हुए आकाशवाणी, दूरदर्शन पटना और भोला पासवान शास्त्री कृषि महाविद्याल, पूर्णिया के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आयोजित किया गया था। माननीय कुलपति ने कहा कि जी 20 को भी कृषि से जोड़ा जा रहा है ताकि इन 20 देश और बिहार की कृषि को कैसे आगे ले जाया जाय इस पर मंथन हो सके । इसके बाद माननीय ने नेहरू युवा केन्द्र द्वारा महाविद्यालय में मोटे अनाज पर आधारित प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया। साथ ही कुल 26 सफल NCC कैडेट को बी और सी सर्टिफिकेट प्रदान किया गया।

बिहार विधानसभा की कृषि उद्योग विकास समिति का बीएयू में अध्ययन यात्रा 

बिहार विधानसभा की कृषि उद्योग विकास समिति के माननीय सभापति श्री सुदामा प्रसाद सहित अन्य सदस्यों जैसे श्रीमति मंजू अग्रवाल (माननीय सदस्य बिहार विधान सभा), श्री जितेंद्र कुमार (माननीय सदस्य बिहार विधानसभा), श्रीमति बीमा भारती (माननीय सदस्य बिहार विधानसभा) के अलावा चक्रपाणि हिमांशु (माननीय अध्यक्ष बाल विकास संरक्षण) इत्यादि ने अध्धयन यात्रा के क्रम में बीएयू का दौरा किया। 
इस समिति का प्रयास होता है कि किसानों के हितों में हो रहे कार्यों की समीक्षा करना एवं उसमें बेहतरी के लिए सुझाव को विधानसभा में रखना। 

माननीय कुलपति बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय डॉ डी आर सिंह ने सभी माननीय सदस्यों को पुष्पगुच्छ एवं मोमेंटो देकर स्वागत किया। मिनी सभागार में सदस्यों सहित विश्वविद्यालय के सभी अधकारियों ने बैठक किया एवं विश्वविद्यालय की गतिविधियों पर आधारित वीडियो फ़िल्म सफरनामा देखा। माननीय कुलपति ने सभी आगंतुकों को विश्वविद्यालय की गतिविधियों उर उपलब्धियों से अवगत कराते हुए विश्वविद्यालय को हाल में मिले पेटेंट से अवगत कराया एवं विश्विद्यालय द्वारा कृषि आधारित उद्योग में सहायक कार्यों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया। विश्वविद्यालय के सहयोग से प्राप्त जीआई टैग वाले उत्पादों की पैकेजिंग और ब्रांडिंग के लिए विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा किये जा रहे प्रयासों से अवगत कराया। साथ ही माननीय कुलपति ने सभापति और अन्य सदस्यों को कतरनी उत्पादकों की समस्याओं से भी अवगत कराया। कतरनी धान की बेहतर मिलिंग के लिए अच्छे मिल की स्थापना की जरूरत के बारे में भी बताया। मखाना और बिहार में उत्पादित चाय की ब्रांडिंग की नितांत आवश्यकताओं को बताते हुए माननीय कुलपति ने इसे एग्रो-एक्सपोर्ट पालिसी स्थान देने के आग्रह किया। 
समिति के माननीय सभापति ने विश्वविद्यालय की कार्यों की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि आपके सुझावों पर हम जरूर करेंगे। उन्होने कहा कि हर हाल में किसानों को उचित मूल्य मिलना जरूरी है, सरकार फसलों के न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य तो तय करती है लेकिन उसके लागत मूल्य का खयाल नहीं रखती। 
किसान अपने भरोसे नवाचार कर रहे हैं हमें आशा है कि विश्वविद्यालय उनके इन कार्यों में सहायता कर रही है। उन्होंने आश्वस्त किया कि विधानसभा से आने वाले प्रतिवेदन में बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय से प्राप्त अनुभव को समाहित करेंगे। 
माननीय सदस्य और बीएयू सीनेट के सदस्य श्री जितेंद्र कुमार ने कहा कि हम इस अध्ययन यात्रा में यह देख रहे हैं कि किसानों को उचित मूल्य मिल रहा है या नहीं, उन्हें उचित वैज्ञानिक सलाह मिल रहा है या नहीं । जिस प्रकार से  बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय शोध से नए पेटेंट प्राप्त की है इससे जाहिर है किसानों का कार्य आसान होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यहां से कृषि शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के उपरांत अगर युवा कृषि उद्यम नहीं अपनाते तो कृषि शिक्षा ग्रहण करने का उद्देश्य सार्थक नहीं हो पाता।

As per the G-20 theme,  “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” which encapsulates India's vision to foster international cooperation, focusing on inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and climate action, one kishan Gosthi was organised at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour by Akaswani, Patna and  Durdarshan, Bhagalpur. Students of under graduate and Post Graduate Programme were participated in this Gosthi. 

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. D. R. Singh, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour briefed the importance of Kishan Gosthi in the perspective of Financial and sustainable Development of the country. He mentioned that this Kisan Gosthi will be the best platform to address common economic challenges, promote stability, and prevent or mitigate financial crises.  He highlighted the importance of addressing climate change and promoting clean energy in G-20 forum. He mentioned about the impact of Bihar Krishi Road Map on Agriculture. He highlighted the achievements of Bihar including GI Tagged products, Patented Products and national and international awards. In the year 2023, the five farmers of Bihar Bagged Genome Savvier Award Prize where, the Katarni Rice grower and Jardalu Mango grower will get the Prize value of Rupees 10 lakh. With the help of University’s support and guidance, farmers of Bihar, can able to export their Jardalu Mango at International Market Dunbai @ Rs 900/- per kg.

26th ZREAC Meeting organized at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour

The 26th Zonal Research Extension Advisory Committee Meeting (ZREAC) for Rabi season for Zone III was organized today at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, Dean (Agriculture), BAU, Sabour. He explained the importance of farmer participation in framing the research objectives of the university, which was possible through this meeting. He said that the feedback of the farmers will lead to the development of new research projects for solving the problems related to agriculture of the farmers to be researched by scientists. 
Dr. S.N. Ray, Assoc. Dean-cum-Principal, BAC, Sabour presented the progress report of the previous ZREAC meeting for Rabi in which he informed the house that all queries of farmers were solved successfully by the scientists of the university.
Dr. P.K. Singh, Chairman, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, BAC, Sabour informed the house about the new varieties released by the university for Rabi season which could be helpful in Agroclimatic Zone III of Bihar.  
In the next session, the farmers apprised about the problems faced in Rabi crops like Wheat, Linseed, Maize, etc. The agricultural scientists and farmers from six districts Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Sheikhpura, Khagaria and Lakhisarai were present in this programme. 
The welcome address and arrangement of the program was performed by Dr. Anil Paswan, Asst. Professor, Department of Extension Education, BAC, Sabour who acted as the coordinator of the program.

Badminton Tournament organized on the occasion of 14^th Foundation Day of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour:

On the auspicious occasion of the 14^th Foundation Day of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour a ‘Badminton Team Tournament’ was organized at the Badminton Court of Officer’s Club of the university on 08^th August, 2023 in the series of different programmes organized throughout a week celebration.  The ‘team of the students’ and the ‘team of the residents’ of Sabour campus participated in this tournament.  Dr. D. R. Singh, Vice Chancellor, BAU Sabour inaugurated this tournament and enjoyed some of the matches there as well as he cheered up and supported the players.  The Vice Chancellor has always reiterated the importance of organizing the sports events on regular basis. Under his guidance for the first time in BAU Sabour an “Annual Sports Calendar” has been issued for the students of the university.  The Vice Chancellor has mentioned to increase the sports infrastructure and facilities and to make a provision for the sports in the budget of the university.

            Students of Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour and College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour  namely- Manish Raj, Deepak Kumar Choudhary, Navneet, Raviraj, Aman Nisar, Aditya, Shubham, Kundan and Harsha Kumari participated in this tournament from Students Team.  Whereas officials/players of the campus namely- Dr. R. B. Verma, Ashish Chourasia, Amit Kumar, Satyasai Saran Sharma, Birendra Murmu, Santosh, Neev, Sameer and Ananya Osh participate from the Residents Team. All the duties of reception team, match umpire, line judge etc. were performed successfully by the junior badminton players/ kids of the officials residing in the campus and this became the attraction of this event.  The students’ team won this badminton tournament by 3-2 at close quarters and amid nail-biting performances by the players.  All the Deans, Directors, senior officers, and many of the officials, residents and students were present during this tournament.  Sports meets/ tournaments have been organizing regularly in the university campus in view of preparing the students/ players of the university for different sports competitions at national or state level and in view of promoting the sports spirit among the officials of the university.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organized to commemorate the 14^th Foundation day of BAU, Sabour

A voluntary blood donation camp was organized on 7^th August, 2023 in the Sehat Kendra, BAU, Sabour to commemorate the 14^th Foundation day of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. The camp was inaugurated by Dr D. R. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour. Altogether, 41 students and teachers of BAU, Sabour came forward to donate blood. Addressing the donors and volunteers , Dr. D. R. Singh encouraged the youth to come forward for the cause of humanity. Ms Varsha, Kumari, a first year student of the Bihar Agricultural College, came forward to become the first donor of the camp. She was felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. The blood donation camp was co-sponsored by the HDFC Bank Ltd., Bhagalpur and organized under the medical supervision of the Regional Blood Bank, JLNMCH, Bhagalpur. Dr. Anshuman Kohli, Nodal Officer, Sehat Kendra along with Dr Saurabh Kumar Chaoudhary, ANO, BAC, Sabour coordinated with NSS volunteers and NCC cadets to successfully organize this event.

बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर में आयोजित हुआ 14 वाँ स्थापना दिवस समारोह 

आज दिनांक 05/08/2023 को बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय सबौर में 14 वाँ स्थापना दिवस समारोह का आयोजन हुआ | आज ही के दिन 2010 में बिहार में कृषि और कृषकों के चहुंमुखी विकास को लक्ष्य लेकर बिहार के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री नीतीश कुमार द्वारा बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्याल की नीव रखी गायी थी | आज के कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि बिहार सरकार के कृषि विभाग के सचिव श्री संजय कुमार अग्रवाल ने परिसर के दो दिनों के भ्रमण के उपरांत अपने अभिभाषण में कहा कि “स्थापना दिवस हमारे कार्यों को अवलोकन करने का मौका देता है और इस विश्वविद्याल की उपलब्धियों को कल से देखते जा रहे हैं तो उपलब्धियों की लिस्ट ख़त्म ही नहीं हो रही है और यही यहाँ के लिए बड़ी बात है |” साथ ही मुख्य अतिथि ने कहा कि हमने जो भी यहाँ भ्रमण के दौरान देखा और समझा उससे यकीन के साथ कह सकता हूँ कि मैं यहाँ से बहुत कुछ सीख कर जा रहा हूँ | माननीय सचिव ने जलवायु अनुकूल कृषि कार्यक्रम को प्रभावी रूप से लागु करते फसल पद्धति का पुनरवलोकन करने की बात कही | इस कार्यक्रम में कृषि विभाग के संयुक्त सचिव श्री अनिल कुमार झा, विभाग के उद्यान निदेशक एवं माननीय कृषि मंत्री के ओएसडी के अलावा भागलपुर के जिला अधिकारी ने भी अतिथि के तौर पर शामिल हुए | 
स्थापना दिवस कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत माननीय अतिथियों द्वारा द्वीप प्रज्जवलित कर किया गया | स्वागत भाषण में विश्वविद्याल के माननीय कुलपति डॉ डी० आर० सिंह ने बिहार कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के संस्थापक कुलपति डॉ मेवालाल चौधरी को याद करते हुए कहा कि उनके द्वारा एक शानदार संरचना की रखी गयी बुनियाद पर ही आज हमलोग इतने बेहतर तरीके से कार्य कर रहे हैं |  माननीय कुलपति ने कहा कि संसथान जितना पुराना होता है उसकी गरिमा उतनी बढती जाती है | आज हमारा विश्वविद्यालय 13 वर्ष पूर्ण कर 14वें वर्ष में प्रवेश किया है, हमारा विश्वविद्याल किशोरा अवस्था में ही विभिन्न फसलों के 32 प्रभेद विकसित कर एक कृतिमान बनाया है | उन्होंने बिहार सरकार के कृषि विभाग के सचिव द्वारा विश्वविद्याल को दिनों तक गहन निरिक्षण करने के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया | माननीय कुलपति ने सचिव महोदय से विश्विद्यालय में मौजूदा 15 विभागों को विस्तार देकर बिना अतिरिक्त खर्च के 20 विभागों को मान्यता देने के लिए आग्रह भी किया |  

 वेबसाइट, पुस्तक एवं पैकेजिंग का विमोचन : 
इस कार्यक्रम में जलवायु अनुकूल कृषि कार्यक्रम पुस्तक एवं कॉफी टेबल बुक का विमोचन किया गया | साथ ही कतरनी धान और जरदालू आम की ब्रांड पैकेजिंग का विमोचन किया गया, इसकी पैकेजिंग भारतीय पैकेजिंग संसथान ने किया है | बीएयू सबौर का नए प्रारूप में वेबसाइट का भी लोकार्पण किया गया | 

 शिक्षकों, कर्मियो, किसानों और विद्यार्थियों को किया गया पुरुस्कृत :    
 आज बेहतरीन कार्य करने वाले शिक्षकों को बेस्ट टीचर अवार्ड से नवाज़ा गया साथ ही बेहतर शोध करने वाले शिक्षकों को भी पुरुस्कृत किया गया | अपने कक्षा में में बेहतर उपलब्धि हासिल करने वाले सभी महाविद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों को भी पुरुस्कृत किया गया | कई नवाचारी किसानों को भी पुरुस्कृत किया गया | 

छ्त्रवास के लिए मिलेगी राशि : 
माननीय सचिव ने कहा कि अगर यहाँ से सम्बंधित किसी भी महाविद्यालय में छ्त्रवास कि कमी हो तो मांग की जाने पर सरकार राशि प्रदान करेगी | इसी क्रम में उद्यान महाविद्यालय नूरसराय में छ्त्रवास में नये कमरों का निर्माण किया जायेगा | 

भागलपुर को रूफ टॉप गार्डन की सौगात 
कृषि विभाग भागलपुर को भी रूफ टॉप गार्डन यानि छत पर बागवानी कार्यक्रम में शामिल करेगा, अभी सिर्फ पटना में ही यह कार्यक्रम चल रह है | इसके तहत विश्वविद्याल को भी रूफ टॉप गर्देनिंग के लिए शोध करने और मॉडल बनाने हेतु सहायता राशि मिलेगी | 

 छात्र करेंगे खेतों में प्रयोगिक कार्य

The 2nd Alternative Dispute Redressal Camp organized at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur for the speedy execution of the pending cases in the Hon'ble High Court, Patna, today on 15.07.2023, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur (Headquarters), organized "2 nd Alternative Dispute Redressal Camp" in the chairmanship of Dr. D.R. Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, BAU, Sabour. The session was conducted in the presence of constituted committee members viz., Registrar, Comptroller, Learned Counsel of the university, Deputy Director Administration, and Officer-in-Charge of Legal Cell. In total, 15 cases were presented by the committee for hearing in which 19 petitioners presented their cases. The petitioners were privileged to present their claims/ griefs in the context of the case. Thereafter, the committee discussed in depth about the various aspects of the related matter. After thorough discussion, and as an outcome, consent letter from the side of 18 petitioners for withdrawal of cases pending in the High Court, Patna were submitted to the university. This unparallel effort will prove to be a milestone in the direction of
reducing the pressure of pending legal cases on the university. At the same time, this effort reflects the positive thinking of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor in this direction, which will prove to be useful in creating work culture for the development of the University.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, BAU, Sabour felicitated to students for this excellence performance intra college sports competition of CABT, Sabour during inauguration of girls hostel on 19.07.2023. The winners and runners up received medals and certificates on the award ceremony for  their performace in Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis and Carrom competition. In his address on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said that sports competition not only gives all-round development to the children but also gives them an opportunity to play a leading role in building the country and society. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor encouraged the students for their active participation in sports competition. The girls hostel for College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour was ingaurated on 19.07.2023 by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor. The 10 room with facilities of bed, table, chair and wardrobe etc. have also been made available for the girl students of CABT. At this auspicious occasion, Dr. R. P. Bihar Agricultural University hosted a two-day workshop titled "Developing Grant Winning Proposals & Building Right Perspectives in Science Communication" at Sabour on July 17-18, 2023. The workshop was specifically organized for the university's scientists and aimed to enhance their skills in creating high-quality research projects to secure funding from various external agencies. A total of seventy scientists participated this workshop. Leading the workshop was Dr. P Krishnan, the Director of the Bay of Bengal Programme at the Inter-Governmental Organisation in Chennai. Dr. Krishnan is an esteemed speaker with extensive experience in the field. The primary objective of the workshop was to train scientists in crafting research proposals that would attract funding from esteemed organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Biotechnology, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India, as well as international funding agencies like IRRI, IFRI, BMG, and others. Notably, the Ministry of Environment and Forest and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare could also serve as potential funding sources. In his message, Dr. D R Singh, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the university, emphasized the university's support for scientists in developing high-quality projects and obtaining funding from diverse sources. The workshop was specifically organized to bring in prominent experts to facilitate learning and provide hands-on experience in creating award-winning proposals.

For eradication of mal-nutrition, nutri-garden is an essential component which should be set up in the premises of our homes and also in institutions and schools. Aiming at this, a nutri- garden has been established in the school premises. Seasonal vegetables will be planted year- round in the garden for supply of fresh vegetables enriched with nutrients. On 28 th June, plantation of Kharif vegetables in the nutri-garden was initiated with planting okra which was done by the students of the school under the guidance of the team of lady scientists of BAU, Sabour. The school students were also made aware of the various cropping seasons for agricultural crops and nutritional benefits of vegetables. Cowpea, cucurbits (cucumber, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, etc) will also be planted in the first fortnight of July, 2023.

Soil scientists from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar have successfully developed and patented “A PROCESS FOR FORMULATING PARTIALLY ACIDULATED NANO-PHOSPHORUS FERTILIZER” consequent to elaborate research work in the laboratory and subsequent validation in field experiments. The patent was granted on the 28^th of June, 2023 for a term of 20 years from the date of filing, i.e. the 22^nd of September, 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act,1970.

Widespread deficiency and naturally low use efficiency of Phosphorus in Indian soils demands a streamlined and focussed approach for its efficient management.  Rapidly increasing exploitation of rock phosphate for phosphorus fertilizer industry is an area of concern today. It necessitates the use of alternative strategies to utilize the indigenous low grade rock phosphate coupled with novel interventions of nano-science for enhancement of Phosphorus use efficiency in major crops of India.

The team of inventors led by Dr. Kasturikasen Beura, Assistant Professor (Soil Science) also consisted of 3 other Soil Scientists from BAU, Sabour viz., Dr. Amit Kumar Pradhan, Dr. Nintu Mandal and Mr. Rajeev Padbhushan. They were able to prepare the nano-rock phosphate formulation after a series of standardization techniques and tested the performance of the product in major cereal crops viz., Rice and Wheat. They observed a high apparent Phosphorus recovery of 20-25 % upon using the nano Phosphorus fertilizer as soil application and 48-50 % under foliar application. The team feels that the success of this scientific endeavour lies in the possible utilization of low-grade rock phosphate deposits in India using nanotechnology as a novel nutrient management strategy.

Honourable Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour inaugurated FLOWER PROCESSING UNIT on 01.07.2023 which comprised of the inauguration of Dehydrator with 50-150 kg capacity, powder pulveriser and bend sealer (mini) machines. The motto of establishing this unit is to recycle the flower waste and to re-utilize it in making diverse natural products like dry flowers, Floral Gulal, incense sticks, floral face mask, poultry feed supplement and floral manure. On one hand this unit would assist in minimizing the pollution of water bodies, whereas on other hand augment employment generation with the production of eco-friendly, heath conscious, handmade and high market demanding products.

A stakeholders’ meeting of Katarni Rice was held on 30.6.2023 in Mini Auditorium of BAU Sabour to discuss on the various aspects of development and promotion of this coveted rice. Around 126 Farmers including 10 women farmers involved in Katarni Farming from Banka, Bhagalpur and Munger districts participated in the meeting. Dr. D. R. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU emphasized the setup of strong market linkage for Katarni rice so that the original quality and aroma of this variety can reach to the end users and also farmers get the remunerative price.  For enhancing the brand value of Katarni, attractive packaging material of different sizes are being developed by BAU in collaboration with Indian Institute of Packaging.  Farmers of different blocks gave their feedback and valuable inputs for enhancing the brand value of Katarni and suggested a few actionable points to increase the production of Katarni to cope up the domestic market. Expert from APEDA informed about the different avenues of export of Katarni rice and suggested to organize an producers-exporters meeting for Katarni rice to design a framework of its export in the line of Basmati rice.   The seed of Bhagalpur Katarni ws distributed among sixty farmers and information about the upcoming Dwarf Variety of Katarni rice was given by Dr. Mankesh Kumar. A light on the issues and challenges associated with Katarni farming and the various majors taken by BAU to tackle these issues was given by Director Research BAU.

KVK Manpur Gaya organized a workshop cum training programme on Cultivation of Millets under Changing Climate under Climate Resilient Agriculture  Programme on 17 June 2023  in which more than 700 farmers and stake holders of Magadh Division attended. On the third day (7th June) of the One week workshop on “Environmental Protection and Awareness (EPA-2023)” during 5th – 11th June, 2023, the Waste to Wealth Programme was carried out, where students of BAC & CABT, Sabour and Kasturba Gandhi Balika School, Sabour participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Different products derived from waste of different sorts were presented, like liquid fertilizers from onion and other kitchen wastes, pen stands, dust bin, decorative materials from plastic bottles and paper wastes. The models depicting Waste to Wealth by the children of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Sabour, the school adopted by Bau, Sabour were really very marvelous. Apart from students of BAC & CABT, school children, faculties were present to witness and judge the models for awards. Parthenium eradication and beat plastic campaign was carried out at 6 AM in the morning on the second day (6^th June) of the One week workshop on “Environmental Protection and Awareness (EPA-2023)” during 5^th – 11^th  June, 2023. Sabour organised a plantation programme in front of the area of PG Lab-2. Dr. R. P. Sharma,
Dean (Agriculture) and Dr. N. Chattopadhyaya, Prinicpal, CABT, Sabour were the chief guest of
the programme. Faculties of MBGE/CABT and the students of CABT participated in the
plantation programme. Dean (Ag) and Principal, CABT appealed to the students and faculties to
plant as many saplings as possible to make the campus green and a better place for the posterity.
Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Dr. Tushar Ranjan act as the convenors for organising
the plantation programme for making this event a grand success.

One week (05-11^th June 2023) workshop on environmental protection and awareness was inaugurated today on 5^th June 2023 on the occasion of world environment day under the chairmanship of hon’ble Vice Chancellor BAU, Sabour and chief guest Dr. S. K. Choudhary, Former Dean, Faculty of Science, TMBU, Bhagalpur. The programme started with the Jal Arpan by the dignitaries sowing the importance of water conservation. Dr. Choudhary delivered plenary lecture on “Say no to plastic” where he informed about the ill effect of plastic on human and other animal health and that difficulty in its degradation. Students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, the adopted school BAU, Sabour gave speech on environmental integration and management. NSS unit of BAU took oath for keeping the campus clean, green and plastic free. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor BAU, Sabour suggested many majors to control use of plastic in the campus and to raise awareness among people out of the campus.

Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour, in which 15 cases were selected by the committee for the hearing. Total 11 petitioners were present during this camp to present their cases, out of the selected cases. The camp was conducted under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, BAU, Sabour and in the presence of constituted committee members namely Registrar, Director Administration, Comptroller, Learned counsel of the university, Officer-in-Charge, Legal Cell.  The petitioners were given full opportunity to present their claims/grief in the context of the case.  Thereafter, the committee discussed in depth about the various aspects of the related matter. After thorough discussion and as an outcome, consent letter from the 9 petitioners for withdrawal of cases pending in the High Court, Patna were submitted to the university.

This effort will prove to be a milestone in the direction of reducing the pressure of unnecessary pending legal cases on the university. At the same time, this effort reflects the positive thinking of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor in this direction, which will prove to be useful in creating a pleasant atmosphere among the office bearers and employees in the university campus and in developing a better work culture.

Competitive Examination & Guidance Cell (CEG Cell), BAU Sabour has been established in Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour first time by the initiative of Dr. D. R. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BAU Sabour to impart the guidance and support to all the existing students as well as former students of BAU Sabour who wish to be a part of Central/ State Administration and want to serve as an officer/ official in Government of India, Government of Bihar or other State Governments. The Department of Plant Pathology, BAC Sabour organized a workshop on "Shielding Plant Health with Innovative Management Strategies" to commemorate the International Day of Plant Health Management on 12th May 2023. A total of seventy four graduate students, fifty one M.Sc students and five PhD students participated in this mela. Most of students are last year’s students of the academic programmes.
