Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma completed his doctoral degree with specialization in Agronomy from Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa Samastipur in the year 1990. During his academic career of more than 30 years, Dr. Sharma made significant contribution towards cropping system research and integrated farming system (IFS). He has also worked in various academic administrative positions including Chairman, Department of Agronomy; Associate Dean Cum Principal, BAC, Sabour; DRI cum Dean, PGS and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, BAU, Sabour. Dr. Sharma has authored more than 100 research papers, 25 popular articles, 03 books. HE has also developed 05 technologies in the area of cropping system, integrated farming system and natural resource management.

Statutory Functions of Directorate Resident Instruction-cum-Dean, PGS
As per the Chapter-IV Sub-Section 23 (1) of Section 23 of the Act, the Director of Resident Instruction-cum-Dean (PGS) shall be responsible for inter-faculty and inter-departmental co-ordination of under graduate and post-graduate resident instructions
In addition to the duties specified in Chapter-IV Sub-Section 23 (1) of Section 23 of the Act, the duties of the Director of Resident Instruction-cum-Dean, PGS shall be
a) to co-ordinate inter-campus and inter-faculty programmes and standards of teaching and evaluation of students’ progress at all under-graduate and postgraduate levels in order to raise the standard of teaching and students attainments; and
b) to perform such other duties as may be entrusted by the Vice-Chancellor
