The duties of the Director Research shall be as follows:
- To develop research in the University to promote team work and inter-disciplinary collaboration, to link up research by students with the research programmes of the University for the State and to co-operate and collaborate with the Director of Extension Education in extending the results of researches to the fields.
- To prepare the annual budget estimates of the research programmes of the University and supervise their implementations.
- To organize inter-faculty co-ordination in research programmes.
- To promote the compilation and publication of the research findings.
- To promote the integration of research with teaching and extension education.
- To hold the Research Council meeting.
- To develop research network in the University by collaborating with other SAU/ICAR/ statutory bodies of National and International repute.
- To develop readymade technology packages to be transferred to the Directorate of Extension for differing stressed situations in agriculture
